In 2015, I arrived in Australia with dreams of landing a business analyst role, but reality hit hard with 516 job rejections before I secured my first professional job. Once I broke into the industry, I quickly rose from entry-level IT positions to managing teams at global organizations like Honda.

But along the way, I realised that it wasn’t just about having the right resume or LinkedIn profile—there were deeper, mindset-driven challenges holding me back as a migrant.

Over reliance on friends’ advice to settle for the safest job, fear of following up with potential employers, downplaying my previous achievements, and not fully embracing Aussie culture were all barriers to achieving the life I dreamed of.

This is why I founded Elevar Career Coaching in 2021 - to help fellow migrants navigate these same obstacles. Since then, Elevar has guided over 250 migrants to land jobs in Australia. My work has been featured multiple times on national radio SBS, and I’ve had the privilege of hosting career workshops with government organizations like Study Melbourne.
